I Question What Induces Zen These Days

I’ve often heard the question “What is the sound of one hand clapping?” being used to induce zen. I never really understood it, as I only begin to think what it may be. It could simply be making and then unmaking a fist, or making and then punching someone with that fist. Or, as Rock, Paper, Cynic has thrown out there, masturbation. I live in such a way that everyone is right in their own regard, but this just has me disgusted. The sound of one hand clapping must be a Sadist’s Circle Jerk.
